Heart of Red

Heart of Red

A Poem by Amber

As if my mind was not enough,
To you I handed my flesh and bones.
Do you even hear yourself, speaking in such deathly tones?
I guess he told you ignorance is bliss
It is now a cold stranger that I so long to kiss.
You dress In gold, yet undress In Red
My dear, you have made your bed,
Now cry in it.
And try to remember
that she was dead all along.

It's not often I use rhyming within my writing as I find the rules of poetry to sometimes be very limiting, but I'm giving it a go!

Awesome poem Amber! I love the dark tones in this write. I also don't like to follow all the rules of poetry, I prefer to just create what I create and call it whatever you want. Sometimes those rules are limiting... I love what you did what this piece :) Good work
