A simple nursery rythm

A simple nursery rythm

A Poem by wolfan13
"

this is a poem i wrote for a book I'm working on that has to do with the true nature of most nursery rythms

"

Once there was a little girl named Sarah

She was so excited for the new book her mother had bought

Her imagination the book caught

A nursery rhythm book they had sought

With a cute little clasp kept the book’s secrets enclosed

Little Sarah was already beginning to doze

Her mom sat on the side of the bed with a smile

Soon they would be in denial

With little Sarah tucked tight

Her mom opened the book to reveal a fright

The Nursery rhythms became what they really were

With the hidden secrets and gore

The truth behind them leaped out in dark shadow

Turning even the sweetest moment hollow

Little Sarah began to cry

For the Nursery Rhythms began to pry

Prod and poke

Her mother couldn’t help but choke

From that moment on Little Sarah never spoke

Quickly the book was closed

To be disposed

Of the truth of Nursery Rhythms

*Do you know where the nursery rhythms you know come from?
