Dear love, why must you be so

This is a poem i wrote after someone asked me what was the meaning of love there are two poems in one

Dear love,

Why must you be so complicated?

You make things wonderful like a smile from a child or the sound of laughter from those I care for.

You make things hard by crushing my heart when I have lost someone dear

You make me wonder if you exist…

You make life seem bearable at times

You make my brain turn to mush when I think about you

You make my heart grow bigger than the Grinch’s did after he stole all the presents…

Why do you make my world spin

You make me wonder why I bother to love

You make me realize I don’t have a choice

You’re a drill sergeant

You’re a fairy god mother

You’re a bully

You’re a friend

You’re the one I want to blame

You’re the one that makes me laugh

You’re the one that makes me cry

You’re what I hope for in the long run

You’re the one that I curse with my very breath

Why do you make me this way?

You make me hate

You make me care

You make me throw things

You make me crazy

You make me sane

You make me wonder

You make me ignore

You make me frustrated

You make me relieved

Why do I bother with you?

I bother to open my heart

I bother to put up walls

I bother to try

I bother to give up

I bother to change

I bother to stay the same

I bother to write about you

I bother to sing about you

I bother….

So love what do you say?

Would you give it a chance?

Would you listen?…
