"LIBERTY AND LIES"

"LIBERTY AND LIES"

A Poem by MarkGMelvin
"

Thoughts of a society gone awry.

"

Lies clouded shrouded in amazed arrogance

Futile to abash the abdication of your own self

proclaimed Supremacy of the esurient poplace

Is this our ornamental pedestal pinnacle

of thoroughness we live today

Engrafted thoughtlessness treasured synthetics

of puppetry,is this our society?

Hunting in anguish for miniscule microbes

dropped from the table

Let our elder demise remain elder

I adjure the generation in accomplishment of sorrow

to pierce through the ongoings of ramblings of

drug addicted promises of prosperity,to path a way

not only for the oncoming yet to arrive, but for the

here and for the now

Trickery is not past it is alive and well and still has needs

to be primarily dispatched, for it is that time

an only at that time, we as an esurient populace of sheep

will fully and completely understand an entirely own

"Liberty"

peace

"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.
The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is
wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts
they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions,
it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...
And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not
warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of
resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as
to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost
in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It is its natural manure." Thomas Jefferson

How free are free men? They are told when to rise, when to work and when they may play. They are told when to eat, and often, WHAT to eat. Every dollar that they earn is taxed by the state for sales and then the objects they buy are taxed again. Then the money with which they bought the objects, yet, no longer have, is taxed yet again by the Federal "income tax". The government may pay policemen to keep us safe but not doctors to keep us well, when it is in their clear benefit to do so. The only freedom most of us have is in the choice of our attitude towards others and the rest of the world. So I say make the most of it and smile when you feel like crying and laugh when death is at your door. The taxman will tax your funeral but he can not come into the grave and there, taxes and troubles; toils and tears can come no more.

This is an emotional piece and well done, bravo to you. We have become an apathetic society and the only way to right all these wrongs, is revolution. That is what I call patriotic.

It is time for us (the puppets) to realize that we need to take the strings from the puppet-masters. We are but a mere tool for them to use in making the world more of what they desire. Our wants are cast aside as always and common man remains their slave to empower them even more. Like sheep we are willingly following to the slaughter. False hopes, fake promises that feed the human cattle more fodder. Until the population awakens to the facts that the propaganda of free man and woman is just that a common misconcieved lie put forth by the political machine, we will never know true "Liberty." A deeply wise and thought provoking writing. A much needed wakeup call for the populace to open their eyes to the disceptions of government. Hopefully they have not become lax and immune to the sound that has been vibrating for quite sometime. Hopefully they will not continue to settle for the few tiny, insignificant crumbs that are tossed our way as a bribe to remain silent. The words of this poetic statement need to be heeded with haste.
