"I KNOW YOUR KIND"

"I KNOW YOUR KIND"

A Poem by MarkGMelvin

We may not speak the same language,

yet I know your kind

We may be from distant lands,

yet I know your kind

We may be from different religions,

yet I know your kind

We may be from different races,

yet I know your kind

Kindness knows itself as a reflection in water,

Kindness is loving all as your own son or daughter,

Kindness cares not for your finance or your condition,

Kindness sees respect and hears when you listen

"Above all else always be kind"

peace

This reminds me of some Taoist verses I adhere to and read often. Kindness and compassion are two things that are purely free of charge to recieve and administer. This is a wonderful reflection of that. Nicely done!!

A thought provoking work. You deal with the topics well and in simple form. We just all need to love one another and put petty differences aside. Keep your pen moving, the world can use a dose of your thinking.

It is a good poem however I agree with the last reviewer. It would sould much better with less repetition.

I have never edited a piece on here, but I am with yours because I feel it is so beautiful but could improve with less repetition. Of course, it is my opinion and I hope you will take it as such.

I prefer it this way:

We may not speak the same language,
yet I know your kind.

We may be from distant lands,
we may be from different religions,
and we may be from different races,
yet I know your kind.

Kindness knows itself as a reflection in water;
kindness is loving all as your own son or daughter.

Kindness cares not for your finance or your condition;
kindness sees respect and hears when you listen.

"Above all else always be kind."

A great sentiment worded in a great way. I like the way you hit us with a "hook" to explain the meaning of "kind." I liked this a lot. Definitely worth repeating and sharing for sure.
