Caged

Caged

A Poem by Wendy Karasin
"

Ups and downs of life.

"
With a flick of my wrist
I could move mountains
wild, thunderous cracks
In a glistening sea
But then fruitless conviction
fells my power
darkness spreads an impending doom
debilitating me,
stealing movement
Like a cheetah free,
now caged.

A very interesting read. "Fruitless conviction fells my power", Very nice. Artfully crafting the jailer of self. Beautifully done. Thank you for sharing...

now you are hurting my brain
and that beautiful animal if kept from being able to run, it will go crazy...and lose its conviction and power...much like the human who needs to be free from the burdens of emotional stress which really can be debilitating..

amazing movement in your pieces...the shortness of the lines enhances the rhythm...

very impressed with your work Wendy..

Jacob, I so appreciate the kudos, and the specifics you offer in regard to these works.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and comment on it. And we do need to be aware of how quickly life can change...and enjoy the good.

I really liked this. It definitely brought home the message you were trying to convey. Life can change in an instant. Smiles can very easily become frowns if we allow it. Very cool.

Exactly.....
Marvellous, who doesn't feel like that sometimes, our worst "jailer" can be ourselves at times, if I understood this piece well.
