those plaid boots

those plaid boots

A Poem by Colleen Margot Lee

Reminding in long wisps
of memory, ceasing
when touched.

It's cold now and
I've forgotten my boots,
moisture leaks inside.
The taste of your breath was always
warm.

Christmas lights, twinkle
a beating frantic enough
to evoke nausea.

Memory, cold and wet feet, warm breath remembered, christmas lights, nausea.

This feels like a logic puzzle without a satisfying answer.
