A Chapter by Colleen Margot Lee

You hair fell in your eyes, and you were wishing that you could just cut it off. Just get rid of it. Start over new and feel how life would be different. Feeling the heavy iron prision ball roll down to your stomach, you knew that forever more you would be captured with in this feeling.

Shaking like and addict, a junkie - wanting needing begging for it to get closer. The roaring of the nosy metal tuning to life to play a symphony written just for you. The steps of your feet roll the notes of the beat and it gets closer. You turn your head just in time to see the flash of beautiful black passing you in a blur so bewitching you almost drop to your knees. It is gone also, before you can jump out in front of it. Offering yourself. Offering your life you have long worked freedom for, from.

You feel the pavement come up to hit you and burn you as the black seems to sizzle away your feeling of emptiness. You failed. Again. Again you failed to even get the attention of something you have been so long waiting for. To think you devoted your time and life to. To think you have wasted it all.
