Sunset in Paradise

I'm spending the sunset in paradise,

soaking up the sun and love.

I'm spending the night next to my sweetheart,

smiling as I dream and sleep.

The waves lap gently at our feet,

we hold our hands, we don't try to flee

the way we did before

in elementary school.

The sand is golden, my heart is singing,

we dive in laughing,

I feel so joyful I'm dancing.

The water is cold, but I still feel warm.

I remember the first time I met you

you gave me a quick glance, and a smile.

I remember when we held hands

your palms were warm, you were sweating.

The times you sang me songs to prove

that you truly loved me.

Those times aren't just mere memories

they're keepsakes to keep until I'm gone.

I'm spending the sunset in paradise,

the waves lap gently at my feet.

The sand is golden and I feel like dancing.

And all those wispy memories come back.
