I Am A Ghostship

I Am A Ghostship

A Poem by Winter of '97
"

Life can be like a ghostship...

"

We go on without aim,

A ghost ship, sailing, sailing.

Storms churn our waters,

But affects none but thee,

One ship sailing, against, along, united.

Six billion others, sailing, sailing.

Always, going on, sailing, sailing.

Storm clouds on the horizon,

Affects none but thee,

No more do thee sail,

Empty, empty.

Silence.

It makes me think and that alone deserves credit. I think the parallels drawn are effective and well placed. I discovered sadness in these lines...a loneliness of sort, but that is what you want your reader to feel so job well done:-)

Cheers

Well I can find myself locked within these words. They have never been more truer or painted a picture as clear. I liked it. It has that effect that keeps the reader hooked.

. this makes me think that life can indeed feel like this ... i have experienced this ... and it takes a phenomenal clarity of thought ... to continue living and attempt to make life better ...

It makes me think of death, which isn't a totally bad thing. And it makes me think of the end of the world. You know how crazy I am, Le.
