I'm fineA Poem by Heather
It's funny how society determines how we should act,
And yet it's changing colours by the week. There are all of these rules about how to know, what to say, What to do. It's more of a chore than a blessing, Than a right, at the end of the day. But it's fine. They frown upon your existence, your passions, your looks, Because you aren't what's expected, They thought you had what it took To be smart, to succeed, to do well, to be better But the reality is worse, you always crack under pressure. But it's okay, It'll be fine. You try to take a breath but it's like the air is poison, It's slowly ridding you of your opinions; your dreams, your ambitions Because society doesn't want you to be that way, You aren't supposed to have superstitions. So you then try to speak out, be heard, be seen But nobody respects what people say, Especially the words of yet another teen. You are left alone, but you realise that it's okay, Because there may be a thin line between being different and being sad But honestly, I'm fine.
