The shiningA Poem by HeatherA lily can outshine a rainbow (If you are looking in the wrong place) A raindrop can cover a lifetime, If there’s just enough space. It isn’t always about what we know, But the potential we have to dream something better, The potential we need to show. At the end of it all, we are all just another debtor. Someone always seems to have the power, never you For you are the minority, the weak, never chosen. No matter how hard you work, what you say, what you do They couldn’t care less; this world may as well be frozen. There’s no time for self pity, I need to do something, be something more, Something beyond the fear, beyond the pain. For this world is troubled, in every direction, gore. If we sit by, we may as well join the rest, be slain. I doubt I’ll ever know the good in this world, there’s no hope. But at the end of the day it doesn’t matter, we have all learned to cope. © 2016 HeatherFeatured Review
