Dew

Dew

A Poem by Jeannine Winklaar

Hardened by natures routine
your ego widens as you go along
not being able to touch others,
seeking shelter and protection
from sharp edges of speech

Sun shines on you one morning
and ultimately a change occurs,
your shield melts away
leaving your inner core to
slowly adapt and join the others

In the fullness of time that what
remains of the old pattern
is a misty shadow lingering
to produce wet feet while
walking across green meadows

I enjoy your poetry. You keep your creations short, but fill them with carefully chosen words that do not waste precious space on the page. Thank you for sharing your art, dear poet.
