Offshore wind

Offshore wind

A Poem by Jeannine Winklaar

  Offshore wind

Off shore at night the

waves loose as the wind

brings peace to his mind

As stars lit the sky

black turns a dark blue

Call in the clouds, to

pour what is left of

rain on dust and sand

Left half full at sea

they drift past the coast

and turn their backs to

the beach and white cliffs,

going up north to get

wind up their tails

drift way past the land

and back to us here

At night, time waits for

them as deep blue sea

for fish to swim out

and back when they tire

Off shore at times he

longs for things to come

to gain hope and joy

For life is full of

fun and love and want
