Absence

Absence

A Poem by Wings over Waters

A sudden clap of wings on
an empty stretch of road,

startles me awake. I feel dizzy,
pain makes the outlines shimmer.

Sleep is my lover now, my
opiate oblivion. I want nothing

but an endless slumber, rolling
days into a timeless stream;

past hunger, vanity or caring,
to suffocate all my plans.

Your absence is as present
as a dark bird on a windowsill.

I feel like this at the moment, nothing makes me happy any more. Something is always watching and it doesn't matter how strong you are or how you try to get on with things there's always something. Just want to lay in bed and curl up in a ball, but I can't even do that lol. Great write I'm glad I came here and reaf this today
