Alone

Alone

A Poem by Christopher 'Windstorm' Kells

Alone

Stretched out, staring at white walls

Thinking how unforgiving these stalls

Loneliness eating me alive as leprosy

Seemingly not allowing it to affect me

Why must I feel so alone?

No space to call my own

Suspicion and untrusting of new eyes

Springing to life with unwarrantable lies

Beating fists against a mental wall

Striving to hear life’s echoing call

Why must I embrace misery’s welcome so?

Of loneliness, hatred, and discontent, I don’t know

A struggle through each new day

Attempting to grasp the happiness in anyway

For what some have I would give everything

But, I must carve life for myself into something

I hold on hoping life will get better

But the black cloud just gets me wetter

If it wasn’t for true friends

My mind would blow away with the winds

sometimes we feel alone even when we're around people, but then it's good to remind yourself how lucky you are to have people who care about you.
