Old Letters

A Poem by Christopher 'Windstorm' Kells

Old Letters

By Windstorm Kells©2002

Words of encouragement and of kindness

So many words what are they trying to express

Some well thought and meaningless promises

Pages filled with contradicting compromises

Yet wisdom pours out like fresh honey

So quit lying about the money

Truth grows like fungus

I see how I love and trust, what a fuss

All the lies are plain to see

Yet, prune me not like a clustered tree

Love grows stale like old socks

So let me out of this old shoe box

Friendship I long for

Some I shall see nevermore

Thoughts like these

I get while going through old leaves

Confusion my only friend

But positive thoughts I send

For hatred got nobody anywhere

In perfect love and perfect trust I care
