Ruffled Feathers

Ruffled Feathers

A Poem by Christopher 'Windstorm' Kells

Ruffled Feathers

The deep shadows linger

Malevolence over a broken heart

A soul’s torment is cold

Simple desires are salivating lust

Confidence surrendering depression

A twisted thought of reality

The soul peeled as burnt apples

Bitterness of sweet longing

Curled skin ripped a heart bare

From flesh a scared muscle

Blackened

            Betrayed

                        Used

Rotting left for dead

Will love find me?
