Night Surfing

By Windstorm Kells©2001

In the waves of blue

In the waves so cool

In the waves of the silvery moon

In the waves without a care

Dancing in the surf you stare

Watching the sunset you dare

Catching the scent of the sea,

                        your nostrils flare

-          (chorus)   -

Wanting for the deep sea

Out there you feel so free

Surfing the wonderful waves you want to be

Now back upon the silent rumbling shore

Before nightfall you want to explore

Finding driftwood and a couple old doors

Making a bonfire you cook some s’mores

Wanting for the deep sea

Out there you feel so free

Surfing the wonderful waves you want to be

The bonfire burning bright with delight

Making love on the beach in the twilight

The moonrise is such an impressive sight

The stars are pinpoints of flickering firelight

Seizing your board you head back out

Catching a wave you give a triumphant shout

Being startled by a whale’s spout

Falling over striking your head with a watery clout
