My Eyes

A Poem by Christopher 'Windstorm' Kells

My Eyes

By Windstorm Kells ©2006

Here’s a look out my eyes

A torch burning

A soul’s intensity

Will not submit

Shadows and dreams

Betwixt the seams

Purity of innocents

Decay of loss

Gradual return

Of nothingness

Is thought, time

Or conscience

A dictation

Of loneliness

An enduring void

Roaring with failure

Questions, answers

Riddles, puzzles

Unattainable

Stressed unwillingly

Confusion blindness

Faith in query

Belief stationary

Life irresolute

Lacking resolve

Hinged in suffering

What to do?

2

A cascading torment

Smothering, racking

The light within

No self-esteem

Reasons imploding

Sacrifice restricting

No hope left

Compounding

Understanding

Confused

What to do?

This is a very brave poem...open and honest. Worry not though we, the readers, can certainly relate to the array of feelings and experiences that are portrayed through your eyes. It has a feeling of intensity with a few well chosen words per line. Well done!
