A Late Summer’s Day

Only one more labor day to go

The music and bands what a show

Sitting upon the green grass

Enjoying this afternoon with the mass

The sun shown as a golden disk up in the sky

The watchful wasps hover and fly

Summer is coming to a close

Yet, the young from the spring still grows

Full of beauty and merriment was this day

The concert in prison, all afternoon did play

For once the evening came upon us

All was content and without fuss

The positive energy seems to come from everything

Magick came from each that did sing

The music that was played for our pleasure

Was well thought out and played well of measure

If I learned anything this day

It was to relax and to be at peace in my own way

For surly this will be my last twenty-second summer

For next year will be twenty-three in number

As I place my head on the pillow, I’ll be going away

I think what an excellent late summer’s day

So to all I would like to say

Good-night if I may
