Vexed Beyond Belief

Vexed Beyond Belief

A Poem by Christopher 'Windstorm' Kells

Woke to another gloomy day

Life seems to get in the way

To succeed the high price you pay

Alone, I stare at winter’s dreary sway

Moving thru life like cattle on the prairie

Startled, we move away stupidly, giving up the livery

Disliking people seen as unsociable

Trudge thru the day utterly lonely, but calmly

Moving thru ones own mind unnerving

Accepting lies presented without wavering

Reason left behind, molding, suffocating

Will today have my mind begin evaporating?

Pain, suffering, dismay bleeding people dry

Hope a shiver of dreams I cry

Push the boulder over the mountain on first try

A minor gift, yet we pry

Disarming thoughts, questions of why

Cowering behind beliefs of deciding

Unsure, moving forward miserably

Falsifications given like metals we’re pacified and led astray

Moving thru life like cattle on the prairie

The images in this poem are good ones. Enjoyable read for I feel dreary today.

This is good! I thought the despair that you wrote about seemed so real. I love pieces where the feelings are real. Great work!

This makes me very, very sad - to have such disheartening thoughts yet I have been there and go there from time to time so I can empathize. Well penned. Thank you.
