Life Changes

Life Changes

A Poem by Christopher 'Windstorm' Kells

Life Changes

By Windstorm Kells ©2001

Glancing upon my path seemingly lost

Achieving all that I have the mortal cost

Eyes of a friend ne’er to see again

For emotions filled are her kin

Gun in hand, I tempted destiny

Calling out for help, but not receiving any

If a gun is power, why do I feel so weak?

Searching my mind for the answers, I think

I’ve changed my ways of thinking

To grasp within myself for something

Exiling thoughts of hate and desperation

Embracing all that which is positive

The Gods have granted me signs

Sometimes brush off the finds

It’s hard attempting what’s expected of me to do

Yet, I survived another day in this heartless zoo

I’m the canvas and this place is the training ground

Giving view of myself as healthy and sound

I must control myself inside and out

For I enter the ring to face life, in another bout

Must of have been some kind of year - 2001 - I have many from then that harpsichord similarly...well penned and thoughtful for certain with so many very visual lines: 'I'm the canvas and this place is the training ground' - is such a comparison of things that relate and yet seem not to - great pondiferous work. Thank you.

I like this. It has a depth to it that a reader can get from just reading between the lines. Great write.
