Prevailing ClimateA Poem by Wilyem Clark
We drift further apart
Like the galaxies; Banish trust and respect, Welcome calumnies. There'll always be reasons Degree by degree To stoke a debate, To preserve enmity, To never lose ground By yielding, conceding, To foster divisions: Let those fears keep on feeding. Hold onto the past With an iron grip; Ain't no finer thrill, man, Than the power trip. And if there's some doubt As to how to proceed, Choose the loathsomest tack-- Do the dirtiest deed! © 2024 Wilyem Clark |
