RainA Poem by Wilyem Clark
Unclad, that is: umbrellaless,
I walk out in the rain; Of niggling inconvenience I care not to complain. Instead, I'd like to focus on The dribble-drabble stain That speckles every inch of earth, That drizzles down each drain. I like the wetness on my face: It tends to entertain; Distracting me from footsore woes, It mitigates my pain. The chief desire in a drought, In torrent-times, the bane; Our weather wishes vacillate-- We drive the gods insane! This quest for pluperfection In our lives be not in vain As long as we can compromise And bare our skins to rain. © 2023 Wilyem Clark |
