I Have Adventures

I Have Adventures

A Poem by Wilyem Clark

Not grand or glorious,
But mostly anonymous
And always autonomous
In a late afternoon.
These sideline activities
Engage my proclivities,
Override sensitivities
That cause others to swoon,
Or confess to their padres,
(Ain't no priests in my cadres!)
Or beseech, bathed in God-rays,
Divine absolutions.
However, these sprees
Are not jamborees
Nor orgies on knees,
But instead--restitutions,
Contemplative sessions,
Sets of casual lessons
Intended, in essence,
To socialize me,
'Cause else I'm too offish:
Dude content chewing crawfish
And acting all mawkish
In unpaired syzygy.
So it's off to the races
Whenever the Graces
Dispel my dull stasis
And energize me.

About
I've been writing poems since my teens (now in my 60s) and prose since the 1990s. It's been hard finding decent forums online--the free websites too often suffer sudden deaths. My "published" works ar.. more..
