Sedition

Sedition

A Poem by Wilyem Clark

Nothing like a good old-fashioned
Storming of the castle
To shake the chamberlains from their naps.
Perhaps now the pandering
To insane revisionists will cease
And people will see that waving a flag
While proposing lawlessness
Is the opposite of patriotism.
Here are some lessons every schoolchild should learn:
Don't surrender rule to the savage fringe;
Don't raise a dummkopf to eminence;
Don't abandon ethics for quicksand convenience.
And when the me-me-mean mobs threaten,
When halfwit hooligans cry for blood,
Let them sacrifice their own.

About
I've been writing poems since my teens (now in my 60s) and prose since the 1990s. It's been hard finding decent forums online--the free websites too often suffer sudden deaths. My "published" works ar.. more..
