A Poem by Wilyem Clark

In the fullness of time
I will stabilize,
I will find my proper orbit
Among the gassy giants.
Once in place and with a sense of purpose,
I will spin,
Not erratically,
But with precision.
My magnetic fields will generate
An atomic hum
That submarines may use
To measure delta-tees,
That stopwatch-clickers may consult
To calibrate their chronographs;
A periodic pulse
The solar system may depend on
To correct for minor
Gravitational spasms.
Thus I'll devote my narrowing existence
To acts that benefit
The cosmic totality.

About
I've been writing poems since my teens (now in my 60s) and prose since the 1990s. It's been hard finding decent forums online--the free websites too often suffer sudden deaths. My "published" works ar.. more..
