A Eulogy for Harper EamesA Poem by Wilyem Clark
Fine older gentleman, famous author
Who appeals to all ages throughout the ages; For him a mere banquet is not sufficient, A revamped Burns Supper won't do him justice. His magnum opus, never published, Is a distillate of manifold human experience, From Eden's foreclosure to the turboprop era. We honor thee, Harper, with memorial bows! With violins trembling behind the curtain And moistened eyes ready to trickle tears, Your monochrome admirers Link arms and warble that heady hymn: "Forsake us not, o flicker of fame." © 2018 Wilyem Clark |
