UntitledA Poem by Wilyem Clark
I should be so romantic
As to believe in renewal, The phoenix eternally rising From spent crematorium ashes. But I know too much about physics, And how peaks are pummeled to rubble, How stars too soon flicker and perish, How entropy rules the day. The boldest words ever spoken Are no better than whispers in blizzards, Blown out of existence forever Before they can sire their echoes; And cycle on cycle may follow Until the axle is broken, And chariots crash in their circuits, Never to circle again. © 2018 Wilyem Clark |
