Greetings from the Delegation of the CPSUA Poem by Wilyem Clark
Mayakovski set his foot on the throat
of his own poetic diatribes; such was the vehemence of that era. Not so today--instead of point-and-thrust polemics, instead of blowgun slogans, precisely aimed, our uprising star dissenters shoot semiautomatically: a scattershot here, a pop-pop there, and they're done. O for devotion to cause, and stamina! O for thoughts whetted on bedrock ideals! O for more backbones and fewer wishbones! Let the revolution begin. © 2017 Wilyem Clark |
