Frustration

Frustration

A Poem by Wilyem Clark

Even in an idyllic retreat,
Frustration intrudes and shakes the foundation,
Catapulting dishes from shelves and swaying
The chandeliers deliriously.
Not much one can do, but hang onto uprights
And hope the seizure subsides P-D-Q,
Then take out the glue and smear it profusely
On teacups and plasterworks large and petite,
On cracked and cratered kraters and urns,
On busted busts and lopsided lowboys;
A journeyman's task"to repair what's wrecked,
To piece together the jumbled past
Into a semblance of soundness and order.

About
I've been writing poems since my teens (now in my 60s) and prose since the 1990s. It's been hard finding decent forums online--the free websites too often suffer sudden deaths. My "published" works ar.. more..
