An Angel Has Fallen

An Angel Has Fallen

A Poem by Wilyem Clark

An angel has fallen--
He lives in the depths outside of God's grace;
This is no reason to despise him
Or neglect his needs.          On the contrary,
This is the time for munificent acts,
For merciful deeds both large and small,
For tender touches and forgiveness,
For reconciliatory tokens,
More than we are in the habit of giving,
Fearing indulgence or misapplication.
An angel has fallen--he is not alone!
They fall by the thousands every day;
We may not be able to lift them up
To their former planes of ethereal glory,
But we can slow their rate of descent
In a multitude of minuscule ways.

About
I've been writing poems since my teens (now in my 60s) and prose since the 1990s. It's been hard finding decent forums online--the free websites too often suffer sudden deaths. My "published" works ar.. more..
