Chapter 7: The Job

A loud applause came after the last song has ended. The waiter approaches them and said:

 

Waiter: Sir someone requested your presence. They want to talk to you including your lady friend here.

Mr Bone: wWere are they?

Waiter: Next to your table sir.

Mr. Bone: Thank you, young man. We will attend to it in a short while.

Waiter: ok sir, please excuse me.

 

Miss. Lessie: Who are they Bone? They seem rich base on the cloths and elegant look in their faces.

Mr. Bone: Maybe, we will not know if we don’t go right? So come let’s meet them.

 

As we approach the people who want to meet us. And they greet us with uttermost joy in their eyes.

 

Mr. Wise: Hello. I’m Mr. Wise and this is my wife Mrs. Wise. You can just call me. Walter.

Mrs. Wise: And you can call me Betty.

 

Mr. Bone: I’m Bone and this is my friend Lessie.

 

Mrs. Wise: You know earlier, I really thought you two were a couple enjoying your time and the scenery here. You look perfect together. I envy your small talks with each other, young and in love. As you can see were not young once anymore but we still enjoyed each others company. And when I see the two of you it reminded me the old us. A blossoming love for one another.

Mr. Wise: Hey! You talk so much about us. You are trying to make us very old.

Mrs. Wise: Sorry dear, they reminded me so much of us.

Mr. Wise: It’s fine. It seems so rude that I let you stand there. Please sit down. Join us for dessert.

Miss. Lessie: It’s nothing really. We are just friend, really.

Mrs. Wise: Hmm. Quite defensive eh. Now I’m intrigue with your relationship status. Somewhat I sense otherwise.

Mr. Bone: Hahahaha…

Ms. Lessie: Why are you laughing Bone?

Mr. Bone: That’s because you’re blushing by Betty’s remarks.

Ms. Lessie: Shut up Bone, you’re embarrassing me.

Mr. Bone: Now your blushing more that ever. I find it cute. The last time I have seen you blushing were way back in college, when you have this crush and I somewhat accidentally revealed it to him in front of you.

Ms. Lessie: Bones stop it or I’ll go now.

Mr. Bone: OK, relax.

 

Mrs. Wise: You know the two of you brings such a cute couple. Very sweet with each others.

Mr. Wise: Stop it already hon, we invited them for a different reason.

 

Mr. Bone: Oh, yeah. What is it you want us to talk about?

Mr. Wise: You see, I’m a producer in the music industry. We are not well known yet. We are still starting. It’s been running for a year now. So far it’s been rewarding. We have few artist and their records were getting recognition. It was slow at first but with the help of advertising it really helps. Now were gaining attention and we will be needing few more artist in our company. Would you be willing to record a song for us? I mean the two of you.

Miss Lessie: That will be great for Bone, not me. For I, myself manages a big company. A family business we own for quite some time now.

Mrs. Wise: Oh, that’s a shame I really want to hear the two of you sing. Like a duo group.

Mr. Wise: The two performances now earlier bring such brimful of emotions, sadness beyond recognition, and a heartfelt piece. Your performance brings so much attention to the crowd. i felt it in my heart, so please do accept the offer. So what do you think?

Mr. Bone: I’m not sure if I could accept the offer. I’m not yet ready to work for now. Less, let’s go.

Mr. Wise: However if you change you mind, here’s our card. Call us. And our company is US base. It’s a big market for music. Hope you change your mind soon. Because were leaving soon to Canada, that’s our home base.

Miss. Lessie: Isn’t great Bone. You can come back and do a recording.

Mr. Wise: That will be great, are the two of you Canadian?

Miss. Lessie: Yes, we are. We are just having a time of our life here in Rio.

Mr. Bone: Less, let’s go. Now!

Miss. Lessie: You’re such a party pooper Bone. Mr. Wise, he will definitely call you back. I'll get that card, just for safe keeping. Bye now. It was nice meeting you.
