Your darkness
becomes your cage
being imprisoned, you became thedemon
on your own dominion.
Never seeing light, you succumb
to your inner needs. Then you
die as ugly truth littered all over
your pale blood.
Ending it all is where
you should rise,
never falling to the
needs of others,
you became the light
never fading, stronger than
you could ever be
you have tolive,
battling our own darkness...and learning to live again....such a pertinent poem for so many of us who border on giving up....on succumbing to depression and loss of hope...
we need to break out of that prison...parole ourselves with light and positiveness...
nicely expressed here...a really good poem, Pax.

This poem for me is exactly the way from the Darkness to Light...Even there are still melancholic strings, but all the suffer we feel will disperse with the sun beams. Believing in tomorrow is so important and valuable...So true, when you die you are reborn again, there is always Hope and Love.
Perhaps, the first step for us to get out of this "darkness" is to recognize that we need help. There are times that we cannot do this alone. Well expressed, Pax
This is an intense, powerful poem, yet written with gentle tho' sad emotion, Pax. There's a see-saw motion to it.. carrying the reader up and down through times of inner struggle. But, but.. it rises more and more til the writer needs find from somewhere deep inside, a new and precious beginning. Am so pleased to read your work again. Welcome back.
A true message of empowerment and coming through. We learn by battling the inner and outer wars or struggles, by holding on to light and truth and by living out our treasured potential. You speak loudly and clearly dear poet and friend. We will make it.
For me this reads like a proclamation of self betterment. In my own life, moments of my greatest strength have been "never falling to the needs of others", when I decided to stand for myself. Some people take it as a negative, as selfish, but we'll lose ourselves to the darkness just as much if we let ourselves be swept away by the wills of others.
Glad you posted.

Very powerful writing my friend! Good to see you writing again. Just finished a "cage" poem myself yesterday! Those tough spots in life can sometimes be inspirational.
