The Game of Silence

The Game of Silence

A Poem by Pax
"

- would there be someone that will say I am still worthy...

"

The Game of Silence

I played the game, alone.

I talk to the air,

Imagining a friend who isn’t there.

My brain’s dual thinking.

- Checkmate -

Personification in strike

Persona’s colliding stake

- Stalemate -

Hello there my stuffed friend

Looks like we are a matched.

We’re Latched,

Encased in the four corners of our walls.

You know I feel restless looking at your frozen face.

Playing with stillness is a hollowed void.

Engross with my ever changing fantasy.

Choosing to ignore reality.

A sad case of my mortality.

- Workmate -

Music patched the necessary unattached realm.

Stories powered the desires to dream the unchallenged dream.

Life is a walking daydream.

- Lostmate -

There are those would think I am coward

And then I box myself not to move forward.

I fear what lurks behind someone’s soul,

Fearing I am not worthy of my own coal.

A charade of personas, hiding.

Tilting the crowd as if I am never there, post acting.

- Soulmate -

Believing you are near,

somewhere far behind that unseen chamber door.

- Castmate -

Sometimes I am just tired of this game.

Whispers of the wind, believing I am tamed.

Sometimes all I need is a real friend

That will hug-out the negative trend

For me to transcend

To the realistic perspective

Waking the sleeping life’s motive.

Oh, Pax, you are so much more worthy than you know.
I actually enjoy chess, though I only play it with my closest sister; so I feel as if you are missing someone that you used to play with, that really knew the truth of you.
" . . . encased in the four corners of our walls", I really love that, like we are all being pulled in each direction and yet it is in our box, or rather in the walls like some secret. Very lovely words, my friend.

True friends are hard to come by, most people don’t realise that a friendship like any other relationship needs time and effort and a lot of love, deserves those things and is a give and take…not just a take, take, take. It is a shame that someone with so much heart feels so isolated and truly my friend it’s a loss to those that don’t even try. You are a kind, loving and soft hearted…yes you’ve had your share of heart and it’s left some scars but a true friend loves both the happiness and you and the sadness…hopeful loving the hurt better! I wish that for you and I wish that I can be that for you! Beautiful poetry from the heart and I am privileged that you shared it with me!

Pax, this is so very cool. It was as if I was talking to myself as I read your words. They are me, unfortunately or fortunately...however I chose to look at it at the time. Very well done and inspiring my friend.

Wow, this piece...it spoke to me. I mean...just...yea.

Epic.

I think this might be one of your best poems, my friend. Just, the amount of introspection, the varying emotions and states of being that you examine with this piece are astounding. It was a journey reading this, though it took not long at all, it opened up my mind and made me think.

Bravo, Pax, bravo.

Epic.

This game I am always familiar with. Staying at the corner feeling am I worth to be love, to be someone's perfect matched. I just keep dreaming, hoping someday it'll come to a reality.

Encased in the four corners of our walls. my favorite line. A poem that really tells us about life and how we should play the game. Nicely done.

Playing a game by the self, I think we do this every day as we transcend into our imaginations and live out some imagined scheme. But this poem has a haunting lonely cry to it throughout, indeed ending with an appeal for a companion to end the solitary game against each imagined "opponent", each space we seek to fill in our lives with someone else, or even just to join in being lost and alone and in that way, feel understood. Everyone has value and is worth it, but it is so much easier to find that through those we share our lives with. A thoughtful piece Pax, and the concept and execution was lovely:)

There will come a time of maturity in our lives dear poet that we need to quit playing other's games and put up with their hard to reach goals and unfair rules. It is twisted to one side and like gambling the odds are so high and against us. Sometimes we need to take a hard look in silence , meditate on so many things and reach our own conclusions just to BE and nothing else. Life is too short for all this negativity and wasted wonderful moments...Bravo my friend...:>)..........
