It will last forever if well kept..
our house survive massive flood
but did not survive massive flame.
good thing i still have photos in the internet
but the old and happy memories of my family and friends were in ashes..
sad...

This is true, if you have bad memory, a photo can bring everything back. Quite easily. The advancement of the internet has been quite useful in our keeping of such memories, but even the internet can't fix some problems.
