A girl who finds hope

A dark path lies ahead of me,

as I stand here all alone.

I shiver at the thought,

of making this journey on my own.

Slowly creeping through my veins

fear is trying to take control,

of my broken body 

and my fragile soul.

Suddenly my breath is shortened,

the fear has reached my mind

As my legs give out and I'm about to fall,

you appear and catch me from behind.

In your arms you hold me tight

and whisper in my ear,

"You are no longer alone,

because I am here"

suddenly the fear disappears

and I have full control

You rescued me from falling 

and lifted me high when I was low.

Now you stand beside me

your hand holding mine.

In you I saw truth and trust,

something very hard to find.
