Letters to M: A Thousand Fare-WellsA Poem by songstressthis was written in response to a muse I found. I wanted to capture the feeling of first love... the feeling that you need that fantasy before you, that it's yours.Remember, ma Cherie, when we lay side by side, watching as Sakura blossoms danced by elegantly. "C'etait rien," she'd whisper with a smile. but, why then smile when it was for naught? As I see the coldness within deep-sea blue eyes, and I always end up drowning. perhaps, it be the will of a masochist for I find myself ceaselessly drinking in more of your coldness… I believed that doing so would lead us back to times of Sakura petal dances, and twirling white cotton dresses… but, I see that before you and I, that there's a massive sea of cerulean, and an all-encompassing cold light. So, recollect Ma Cherie, when we lay side by side, with fragile infantile hands linked together by dangerous thoughts... nonetheless, she says with cool blue eyes, "C'etait rien." And again I find myself falling ever so recklessly into your vision of the sea. yet, I remain, for the scent of Sakura flowers… Just as I do for the feel of your skin on mine. Thus, forgive me when I say that I cannot bear to be as you desire. For ma cherie Je t'aime. Consequently, I recall ma cherie, © 2014 songstress |
