Long before he's cried, I've watched unperturbed as he lay there ailing... He ascended to depths beyond human reach... all the while more, we smiled as the raven cawed... what happened Dearest Daniel
Long before he's cried, long before he's died, I've watched unperturbed as he lay there ailing. But, so much is this the black clawed design of a sadist. I couldn't do much besides watch him shatter…
smiling brokenly, while trapped within a raven's requiem, he ascended to depths beyond human reach… where light never reached upon desolate fields of barley and wheat, the only solace was found purged from the raven's beak. Red and dark like wine, he bleed silently.
Nay, albeit with a few moans, which pressed against the gray miasma, all was nonetheless unperturbed. So, following the raven's caw, our sweet little boy began to bleed. Yet again, I watched him bleed, unperturbed by his ailing eye's.
Dearest, Daniel, had I will to speak his name, forgive me please for my wasteful folly. I cherished you greatly as a fellow of hubris. Nonetheless, forget not, that I am of arrogant wisdom.
Thus, on ward the raven clawed, and drank my compatriot Daniel. He died long ago, the moment I began to turn him out. Sadness, it seemed, was his Achilles heel. Nay, but we all knew, I knew, it was something far deeper. Alas, forgive me Daniel, it was we who erred.
I'm not the best with words but i'll take a shot at perceiving the story of what I read. A lad name Daniel died of sickness (maybe war related) and in his death the author (a fellow soldier maybe) watched him suffer. He watched as Daniels soul left his body and entered the vessel of a raven in the heat of the unforgiving sun, craved desperately a few sips of blood. Desolate the land, Daniel once a man, now dwelled upon his corpse till his thirst was quenched. The author continues to watch without interfering as the pride of a man what once may have been his friend slips further and further till he devours it completely. The last stanza leaves me confused and that really has me going because I need to know now what happened, what was the deeper reason to result in the outcome of these series of events. I maybe completely off topic and on a different tangent with my perception of it all and if so I'm sorry but I truly enjoyed reading this and I need to know what it is about and if possible what inspired it.
