LARKSIGHT

LARKSIGHT

A Poem by Lynne Murphy Miller
"

Summer night, outdoors with friends, candles, stars...

"
THIS WAS AN AMBER NGHT
AND ALL THAT MET MY SIGHT
BECAME AS DELICATE AND MILD
AS THE TASTE OF CANDLELIGHT

FOR AMBER NIGHTS AND YOU ARE LIFE
WHEN LIFE IS LIQUID, RIVER-RIGHT
WHEN THE AIR IS SMOOTH AND SWEET AND WILD
AND WONDER HOLDS ME LIKE A CHILD

WITH AMBER NIGHTS, WITH AMBER NIGHTS
I BLESS THE WORLD, AND HOLDING TIGHT
TO EVERY ANCIENT JOY, I GIVE YOU
ONCE AGAIN THE BRIGHT LARKSIGHT
