The Shepherd's HookA Poem by William Fields IssacBased on 1 Peter 2:25
Like a sheep I'd gone astray,
Wandered off and lost my way, Darkness overtook me fast, I was sure that day was my last. So alone, afraid and cold, Where I was i couldn't have told, I was lost in sin and tightly bound, Until my freedom in Him I found. I heard His voice and I knew, The way of the Shepherd was true, But like a fool again I wandered away, To all the emptiness replay. I felt so far from my Shepherd, I could no longer hear His voice, But my call for help he heard, When I made this choice, A choice to follow Him alone, No longer to wander and roam, I remember this choice when I look, At the faithful Shepherds Hook.
