No Greater Love Than ThisA Poem by William Fields IssacBased on John 15:13 and & 1 John 4:10.
There is no greater love than this,
When it seems no one is near, No better hope there is, When dark has fallen and storms are here. There is no greater love than this, When friends turn their backs No rock as ever sure, When all joy seems in lack. There is no greater love than this, When the world has made you an outcast No forgiveness as ever pure, When you cannot escape your past. There is no greater love than this, When in life's relentless gales, No faith more true, When cold religion fails. There is no greater love than this, That a man lay down his life for his friends, Love consists of this, not that we loved God, But that he love us and sent his son as payment for our sins.
