A gash on the wrist is just what you get.

A gash on the wrist is just what you get.

A Poem by William J Rimbaud

A gash on the wrist is just what she gets

For believing in love

A gash on the wrist is just what she desrves

For believing in love.

He said he loved her

She believed him

He said he'd be there

She believed him

He wasn't there

and she forgave him

Because he said he loved her

And she believed him

He said he loved her

She believed him

He said he'd wait

She believed him

He raped her

She forgave him

Because he said he loved her

And she believed him

Well a gash on her wrist is just what she got

For believing in love

A gash on the wrist is just what she deserved

For believing in love.

The beginning lines were the equivalent of striking gold.
A nice, masterful poem that deserves to be read and re-read.
Good job.

Hm, this was set up quite nicely. I like the style you used, because most people won't use it with the topic. It fits well, in an unexpected way. It has a sense of grave bitterness, and sorrow, and if the readers not careful they can be swept away by it. It really is a detailed poem, with a meaningful message that the reader immediately understands. All in all, I like it. The way you wrote it caught my eye, and the words you used were crafted nicely.

Is this a lyric to a song? Reads like one.

When I read your posts I think it's something I should have written. Not sure if that's a compliment or an insult though.
