Musings of the Love Drunk

Musings of the Love Drunk

A Story by Audrey

I lay in your arms and I look up into your eyes. Shaded by long, thick lashes, they watch the images flicker across the television screen. You glance at me and I swear I see you smile. I can feel your heartbeat. It's going so very fast.

How can you say there is nothing, when all your actions say otherwise?

I roll away. What am I even doing? You've broken my heart. If I get my hopes up, you'll break it again. Playing with my emotions is a cruel thing to do. You may not intend to be hurting me; you may not intend to be playing with my emotions. But, you have this effect on me that I cannot control.

Please, just tell me there's something so I don't have to be confused any more.

I like you, okay? I love you! Now, stop tearing me apart. I need you to tell me how you really feel. Really.
