To Sea My LoveA Poem by Will Harper-PenroseAn ode to the ocean. She's a cruel cold mistress, Unrelenting and tricksy. She's taught me lessons the hard way, And I'll remember each one fondly. I'm going to sea my love, To see my love. She's pinned me with brute force, Foaming like a rabid dog. I've been thrown, choked, tumbled and battered, But there's no love lost. I'm going to sea my love, To see my love. She's addictive like a drug, Taking everything, giving little back. My mind's on her high tide line, She'll always leave me that. I'm going to sea my love, To see my love. © 2016 Will Harper-PenroseFeatured Review
