To Sea My Love

To Sea My Love

A Poem by Will Harper-Penrose
"

An ode to the ocean.

"

She's a cruel cold mistress,

Unrelenting and tricksy.

She's taught me lessons the hard way,

And I'll remember each one fondly.

I'm going to sea my love,

To see my love.

She's pinned me with brute force,

Foaming like a rabid dog.

I've been thrown, choked, tumbled and battered,

But there's no love lost.

I'm going to sea my love,

To see my love.

She's addictive like a drug,

Taking everything, giving little back.

My mind's on her high tide line,

She'll always leave me that.

I'm going to sea my love,

To see my love.

This write splits me between that of life and that of a woman. I often told my younger brother that life gives us gifts of misfortunes as a blessing which becomes lessons and to look out for the women who has no heart for you for she will devour your soul. Both life and the essence of a woman are both beautiful and deadly just as the sea can be, which is perfectly illustrated here. Excellent
