After Gravity Fails

Just because I will never be your lover again,

Am I supposed to forget you?

You inspired me to rescue Amici

And give him his forever home.

You brought music back into my life.

You introduced me to John Fullbright music.

You are the only one who noticed my depression,

Caring enough to have the conversation that persuaded me 

To do what I had to do to get through it, carry on, and get well.

You brought me from despair back to life.

Just because you don’t need me anymore,

Am I supposed to forget you

And stop loving you?

I hope not, because I think

After I breathe my final breath

Leaving this world behind,

After gravity fails,

After the final star in the cosmos 

Stops shining,

Still I will remember you

And I will love you still.

Your poem is full of the deepest feeling William. The object of your love evidently cares deeply for you through her caring actions. Through no fault unfortunately these feelings don't always last. I really like your last few lines which describes the depth of your love - until gravity fails,
