Director:  Atom Egoyan

Egoyan is a Canadian Armenian who has directed a number of unusual films including The Sweet Hereafter (winner of three awards at the Cannes Festival), Exotica, Family Viewing, and Speaking Parts.

Dr. Stewart (Julianne Moore), a gynecologist, is married to music professor David Stewart (Liam Neeson). When he fails to catch his flight home and misses his wife’s surprise birthday party, and she subsequently finds a picture of her husband and a young female student on his cell phone, she begins to suspect he is cheating. During a dinner with some of their friends at an exclusive hotel, she runs into a mysterious blonde, Chloe (Amanda Seyfried), whom she then sees on the streets in the vicinity of her office in the company of older men. Realizing that the girl is a hooker, she hires her to lure David into a cheating situation.  Then a variety of mysteries unfold. Their teenaged son is also a multi-talented musician and his forward-thinking habit of inviting his girlfriend to spend the night is irritating to his mother.

Shot primarily in Toronto, Chloe has a delightful modern look. It is shot with sensitivity, and anyone will find it an appealing  story that will keep you guessing in regard to the reality of what is going on.

Music is by Canadian composer Mychael Danna, who has scored several Egoyan films
