Loss

Loss

A Poem by Doug Ordunio
"

When love is gone

"

Wall-to-wall emptiness

The new decoration she left

When she walked out of my life

Gone were the candlelight dinners

Warm evenings of tenderness

Taking passionate showers together

Walks in the late evening

Beneath silver moonlight

Rooms were bare

No more phone calls in the middle of the night

No more smiles upon awakening

What ended it all?

Is anyone to blame?

Who will forget the other first?

Yes, you've captured the pain and haunting memories that the loss of love brings.
The emptiness and melancholy that one feels. Perfect.
