Moment of Union

that special defining moment

Oh, the magic that surrounds us when our voices intertwine

The birds sing more loudly and with greater abandon

The clouds turn a blinding white against the all-too-blueness of the   

    sky

In that moment when we are one

And that one is greater than the sum of our meager contributions

We are sublimely lifted

And rise far above anyone or anything on earth

This is the fuel that causes our hearts to burn more brightly

During those other mundane hours

When the repetitive tasks of the day possess our lives

Deep in that small niche within us

There is the seed of knowledge

Which realizes that we will come together again

And explode into a brilliance that is brighter than a thousand suns
